Flying, Sleeping in Glasgow

I'm finally on my way! It seems like I've been planning this trip for ages. I did want to see Scotland since I saw Highlander, but I decided to go last year. In February I bought the plane tickets, reserved the B&Bs.

Today I woke up nervous. My nerves have been getting to me, so no relaxing. I did watch Top Chef and ate my lunch for breakfast. I packed everything I could last night. I added the remaining things, got dressed, did my hair in a bun and put on make-up. Still nervous. I checked my lists again and after making sure I had everything, I went on my way. I also took out the garbage.

I'm wearing jeans, a grey top and sandals. Probably the most genius part of my outfit is the work-out bra. I have a Fit Dry Nike and it's great. It holds, no wires and you can't sweat in them. They're so great, I'm wondering why I'm not wearing them all the time. I recommend them for traveling to all women.

So I went to the airport, Ferihegy 1. I was there almost 3 hours before my flight. Though something happened while I was sitting on the trolley-bus. I realised hat tomorrow I'm going to see Skye. I dreamed of going there. Suddenly I got this huge grin on my face and the nerves were gone.

At the airport I waited at the check-in for 45 minutes. Not because I was so far behind in the line, but because they opened the gates a full hour after they said they would. Meanwhile I chatted with an older English man. His accent was really hard to understand. The sort that kind of mumbles. I'm too used to hearing Americans or the clearer version of British. I won't get any of that in Scotland! So he's from West-England, near the Welsh border, some small place. He went to Budapest to spend a sort of long weekend there.

I also exchanged a few words with a flustered American. She was in Transylvania, but for some reason decided to fly from Budapest, no clue why. They came by car from there and had to make a long detour because of the flooding. I didn't know it was so bad there . The TV is too busy with out own floods. So she missed her morning flight by 10 minutes. I have no clue how she got a ticket on this one as with these cheap flights you usually have to book months ahead. She probably got lucky.

So I went into the departures area and called mom. We discussed some thing. I got a coffee and a sandwich, rather expensive. I also got a package of small After Eights, my fave chocolate. At least it's filling.

Then I had to go to a new area after a passport check. Apparently I'm leaving the area of Schengen countries. The guy who checked it asked me if I was really sure I wanted to go. I guess he was flirting. It took us forever to finally get onto the plane. I sat down next to two girls. Lots of kids! So many! And small! Half of them are screaming, the other half is running around. I forgot to buy drinks, so I got a 7UP on the plane. They actually have quite a shop on board. Drinks, food, even perfume and other stuff. You can even rent a PSP and watch movies, play games on it. It made me think of mine. I did consider bringing it, but I want to see a screen as little as possible.

The book I originally wanted to bring ended up being too big, so I brought a smaller one.

The girl next to me was trying to solve a Sudoku, but didn't know how to do it, so I showed it to her.

I just read in the Easyjet magazine that The Elephant House is one of the cafes that JKR used! Cheap too!!!
Address: 21 George IV Bridge, Old Town. How cool is that?!

Now I'm waiting at the Gatwick Airport for the check-in. When I arrived I went through the boarded and am officially in the UK. The thing with Easyjet is that they don't do connections. Basically, you go out and then check back in. It's important because of the liquids. Also, the area before checking in is really boring. You have a few shops and that's it. No seats. I'm actually sitting on a baggage scale now. It seems to be out of order, so I don't have to see my weight. I also got lost a little, but that's okay. Plenty of time. I read that you can change to an earlier flight if they have free seats, but mine is the earliest now. It seems like I can check in now.

Checked in. I then discovered that there is an upstairs. Most of the shops there are closed, but it has a Burger King. Lots of time until take-off, so I sat in for a coffee and a sandwich. I wanted to have a salad, but they don't sell any. ??? I got fish, a kind that they don't have in Hungary. It was okay. I talked to the girl a bit. She is from Lithuania. Her accent is a cross between English and classical Lithuanian.
